Welcome Back Party

Clay does his best dragon impersonation.
----------------------------------------------------
Steven managed to leave his cave and make it to Saskatoon.
--------------------------------------------------------
So the welcome back party that Danielle and Brian planned and hosted was a ton-o-fun and I want to thank everyone for showing up. In true style, things got pretty interesting after Steven and Brice showed up with some pretty potent juice that was better suited for breathing fire rather than drinking.

Back in Saskatoon

While I was in Toronto, the garbage workers went on strike. They tell people not to litter, but then they don't offer people anywhere to put their garbage...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hung out at Nicks house and used his killer sky light to light a pineapple. Sometimes the simplest things can keep me entertained.
-----------------------------------------------------
So I am back in Saskatoon. It is interesting to note how little things have changed since I left over 16 months ago. Everyone is doing the same stuff, living their same lives. Life goes on unchanged even though I travel the world.

This summer should be jam packed with things to take care of. In three months or so I plan on taking off again. There is lots to take care of in that time. Not sure where I am going to head to next, but I have a few leads that I plan on looking into...

Where am I and how did I get here?

Well I am back in Canada after close to a year and a half. Thanks to the lovely Nikki and her soon to be husband Josh for letting me crash at their place for a while as I re-acclimatize myself back to Canadian life. Nikki was even waiting for me at the airport with some Tim Horton's. That girl rocks.

The Middle of Conflict

This donkey has a bad fate. Sacrifice indeed!
---------------------------------------------------------
No Climbing.
------------------------------------------------
The moon rises over a mountain in the Wadi Rum desert.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Travel buddy Mike takes time to run down a red sand dune. The sand was hot and covered EVERYTHING.
----------------------------------------------
Desert police. These guys patrol to keep the Bedouins in check.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
As I was walking through the desert a herd of sheep came to check me out. This guy was interested in my camera.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I soon found out who owned the sheep. A roaming gang of kids.
---------------------------------------------------------
Camels are everywhere. The smell is horrific.
---------------------------------------------------------------

I found myself in the middle of a conflict recently that was ready to turn into an all out war.
West Bank? Nope.
Gaza? Nope.
I was in between two fruit juice vendors on a street in Amman Jordan, enjoying a mug of fresh orange juice. I am not even sure how it started but I assume it was over one guy getting more business. The first guy was young and brash, the other probably nearing retirement. Words were thrown, and at one point the young guy picked up a honeydew melon and was about to throw it when his friend held him back. I have to thank his friend as I was sitting directly in the line of fire.

Into the West Bank Again?

This guy is a very famous rabbi. Just after shooting this, I was swarmed by about 10 hassidic Jews all speaking Hebrew to me. Finally one hands me a phone where on the other end is an English speaking guy telling me that they all want to buy the photo that I shot. Bizarre.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Daria (From Loyalist Fast Track fame) came to visit me from Nazareth. It was great catching up with her and walking around the Old City.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A boy prays. Simple as that.
------------------------------------------------------------------

Trying to decide what to do tomorrow. I am running out of Shekels bbut I want to head into Ramallah for a couple days. Looks like I'll find me an ATM and hire a car and go through the passport and security check rigamaroll again...
