All Your Base Are Belong To Us

Well I was at the base this afternoon, I was there on assignment from the Pioneer, shooting the repatriation of Cpl Keating. For those that haven't heard, he was one of four soldiers killed by a suicide bomber on a bicycle in Southern Afghanistan. He was from Saskatoon. It was a strange event to cover. I had press creds so I was in the bull pen with the rest of the media. One positive side was that many people showed up along the fence surrounding the base to offer support and wave flags.

On a lighter note, last weekend I shot Fred Penner. Yes, you read that right. Fred Penner.

Hectic Days

Well I am now working on the Pioneer paper. It is hectic as I thought. There is so much going on that it is hard to keep track of it all. I am having fun but at the same time I am stressing out about parts of it. The deadlines are tight and the editor that I keep going back to is rough. There are easier editors, but I didn't come here to slide through. I had to report on a city council meeting. It was two hours long and NOTHING happened. However I still have to get two stories out of it. Fun times. Updates may be sporatic as I haven't gotten the net at home yet.

Back at School - Slave to the work

Well, I am now back in Belleville. Been here since Saturday. I've already been hired to shoot three events. The final of the three being Hedley. That is happening tonight and then I jump right into working on the Pioneer newspaper. It looks like it could be a hectic term.

I went to a mixer last night at the "group house" of a bunch of second years. Good times. Like a college movie party. There were drunk first years everywhere!

One of my room mates is still missing. Matt hasn't shown up and no one knows where he is. Matt if you are reading this, hurry before we steal all your room stuff.
